Elanco Reports the US FDA’s Review Completion of Bovaer to be Used Across the US Dairy Industry

- The US FDA has completed the review of Bovaer (3-NOP), an FIC feed ingredient to minimize methane, and confirmed the product’s safety & effectiveness for its use in lactating dairy cattle
- Elanco collaborates with dsm-firmenich to expand Bovaer’s distribution in North America plus gains the right to market it across Canada & Mexico, where the product has been approved for beef & dairy cattle. The product launch with added carbon credit value to producers is anticipated in Q3’24
- Bovaer suppresses the methane-producing enzyme in the cow’s rumen. 1 tablespoon of it per lactating dairy cow per day minimizes 30% of methane emissions or 1.2 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) emissions, yearly
